They look barooooooootiful. Such a good mommy to keep them safe. Seeing as bassets tend to swim like rocks.

They look so sweet! Do they even like to get into the water??
I can't wait to get one for lillian! I think we are going to the keys at the end of April so I'd better get on it.

they love toet in the water and play and see what they can find. we also make them wear them when they go in the boat. emma immediately finds a big pile of towels andfalls asleep, cloe must stand, ears flapping, to get fresh air. on dogster, i have pictures of them swimming. they look like littler beavers swimming becasue of their body design.

By far the Cheapest pet stuff I've found on the Internet is from Omaha Vaccine. They may have the vest but I can't log on to their site at work for some reason? www.omahavaccine.comwww.jbpet.comhas them for $21.95 Here's what they look like.. The Safe and Secure Life Jacket, from Outward Hound Pet Travel Gear, is a high performance dog floatation device. It provides floatation and ultimate buoyancy with bright orange color for easy visibility. • Quickly adjusted for a good fit, with quick-release buckles. • Water repellent neoprene and cordura nylon construction provides warmth and protection from abrasion. • Fits under the belly to keep it securely in place. • Convenient top grab handle for easy rescue by hand or boat hook.

Very welcome. It's not that I know a whole lot I just know where to find the information! Maybe I spend too much time on the internet?
Did you check the prices at Omaha Vaccine? They really are cheaper then all the others
Boating with your hound sounds so nice!

we got ours at petsmart for right around 20$. it was nice because they could try them on before we brought tham home. they also have a handle in case you need to snatch them out of the water for any reason. they look kinda like luggage when you do that:)

Well, I think we are planning a trip to the keys in about 3 weeks and we spend a lot of time on the boat or fishing off of the dock. I think I need to get my hiney off to petco and see if I can find one! I would hate for Lily to fall off of the dock while trying to look at the fish..LOL.

be careful with the fish...emma and cloe try to steal them, hook, line and all. last summer cloe snatched a little one still on the hook and tried to take off with it. we had to pry her mouth open to get it out. she was mad too, losing her fish that way. i am sure the fish was none to thrilled either.

Yikes!!! I would hate to have to run to the vet because Lily swallowed a hook! I have seen plenty of egrets do it and for them all you can really do is cut the line. I better be sure to get the number and location of the nearest vet.

yikes! I was wondering what buddy would think about a bucket o' fish- maybe I better use the stringer-flopped-over-the-boat method, LOL, it takes a LOTTA blue gills for a fish fry for my fam... they wouldn't appreciate it much if all I came back with was an empty bucket and a dog licking its chops, LOLjavascript:adds(";D") I didnt look at the omaha site yet but I did bookmark it for later... have to wait a while before I can invest in anything else bassett, lol, hubby is still wondering how the hell our "free" dog has already cost us $100+, with the vet bills for shots and neutering still out there....javascript:adds(" ") SOOO I better wait a little til the weather warms!
