The puppies are 8 weeks old now and need to find furever homes. I still have 7....well 5.... we are keeping 2. They have had a ad in the local paper. And I have had 2 people call and ask about them, I tell them how to get here and we say a time then they do not show up. I have had to rush home from out of town for nothing. Then last night we ate supper at like 9 o clock. Cause I was waiting for more people. I guess its better they changed their mind before they got a pup, but it is aggravating none the less.

That stinks. Maybe someone will follow through soon. I can only imagine how crazy they are making you. If I lived there, I would so be over there helping you out all the time (or, you know, stealing them, haha). I'm sending good puppy vibes your way. Can you maybe call a local radio station and put an ad out over the radio? I don't know how that works, but it might help.

Too many people are just plain inconsiderate! Wouldn't it be nice if they could at least call???
Which 2 did you decide to keep? I bet it's in another thread and I'm feeling too lazy to go looking. Sorry!
I hope you get them all perfect forever homes very soon.

Oh , my I guess you dont have free adds like the Eastman classified or NBC news classified. Don't lose heart when Grace had hers I had about 16 people call and want puppys from all over the country.I wouldn't even consider anyone unless a vet recommended them or a friend knew them. You must start advertising before they have puppys and then call the intrested people when its time to put down a deposit and let them pick their pup.then when the vet has gave them a check up and the shots you call and let them get there babies. That way you know what kind of people you are dealing with cause they well call and check on them if they are the right ones and its so much easier to hand them over.I know its to late now, but maybe someone else well read this and rem if they need to. Try everthing thats free before you use the paper. For some reason I just never had luck that way .A good place is your vets too Ours has a bullitan board and so does our post office a local laundry mart too. Even krogers and walliworld if you have one. Good luck ,I wish I could help.

We have 2 vets in town and that was the 1st place I put out signs. Then I ran it in the paper, but we are in a small town....we get a paper once a week. There is another paper that is nothing but classifieds and it covers like 4 or 5 parishes. I think I am going to put them in there. Several people have told me to take them and set out in front of walmart and they will sell. Well.... I don't want to do that, Because people will see them and say oh how cute and buy a pup they may not really want just because its cute. Then it winds up a stray or at the shelter. They are my babies and I have to do everything I can to make sure they are going to a good home.
We are keeping Caboose and Sugar ( AKA Little momma and Puss in boots) Caboose is going to be a beautiful hound! He has blue eyes, and jet black fur. And Sugar is going to be a little lighter than Flash, but is the sweetest thing ever!

Caboose was my favorite so I am thrilled you are keeping in.
They must be gettting so big now. But I'll bet they're still super cute!

Don't get discourage! I would rather keep the dogs longer and find them a good home. I still have the puppy. It is so hard trying to find homes for these little puppies.

Keep up the search, Kristol. Maybe placing another ad in the bigger classified paper will work. Lots of luck your way for finding the pups good forever homes.

I was wondering are you including pictures of the mom and pups in your adds . a lot of non hound lovers don't have a clue what a basset looks like except the hush puppy add.I took pics of Grace and Droopy .this sold many cause, they wanted one like the mom or dad. This time of the year is rough time people are getting ready for school and they don't have the extra money. I think I would advertise in a bigger area too. You and them can compromise and drive half way.

I did not run a pic of Rossy and Flash, but when I THINK someone is coming I do get some out to show them. I also have their medication records, UKC papers, and Info on bassets telling them all about them ready to go with the pups.
