I went to the races It was 99 degrees out side in the heat and with the concrete and people index it must have really been 200. We got to go up in the booths, Jim's work ,has a booth and it must have been 30 degrees in it, air was really cold somewhere in the middle must have been raining. I went down to the bottom, to take pics and it was so loud I couldn't take it. I took several but, not much happy with all, cause the best stuff was in dark and my camera just want do it.Want get to go to big race but did get to see practice and it was exciting.

What type of racing? We used to go to a lot of races when we lived in CT, but there aren't many tracks withindriving distance of us.
I hate to think how hot it was inside the cars! Yikes.

They give my husband tickets for that race. I told him there wasn't know way I would fight the traffic . How bad was it. I watched some of it on ESPN.

they said there was over hundred twenty thousand people there and they must have been twice that many cars. a thirty min drive home, took almost 4 hours , I think that was not the worst part it got so hot. If I had to set in the stands I wouldn't have went at all... I sit there and watched those poor people in the crews all decked out in protective clothing having to push those cars in that heat to save gas for the race to get lined up. I sure hope they get paid good cause they really earn it and if you think they can change tires quick on tv you should see how quick in person..Its a beautiful site the cars are beautiful..I was treated so good I shouldn't complain cause I had air conditioning and even a waitress served us food and drinks it was very nice.Jim goes a lot but this was the first time I went,I think his boss kind of wanted me there cause Jim usually takes a buddy He asked if I was going and I think Jim got worried he wouldn't get to go next time .Jim told me I might see a famous person.. and had me all excited, they have security to make sure you don't see them. I was so disappointed with my camera this is one of my night shots... I would show you some of the booth shots but they have people in them and I try not to show any since this is the web

My boss gets tickets to the Nascar races at the Texas Motor Speedway sometimes and if he can't go, he usually gives them to me. I love going to the races, even though I'm definitely not a fan. There's just something about going.. I would never watch them on TV, but it is so much fun when you're out there.
I'm glad you had fun, Helen! I know how hard it is to get good pictures.. Those cars move sooo fast.

Put me in the jealous category with JoAnn's hubby ~ I am too jealous you got to go to Bristol and I was stuck watching it on ESPN! And definitely a big thanks for showing a picture of my man, Dale Jr., although I am sure JoAnn's hubby would have preferred to see Jeff Gordon .
