Have any of you given your hound a empty 2 liter bottle to play with? I leave the lid on and Lexie chases it all over our den. She will play with it until she pokes a hole it in and lets the air out---then it is no fun! My husband drinks plenty of diet Dr Pepper so he says the bottles are cheap toys to play with.
What ever works!!! ;D

yea, I guess they entertain each other and don't have to play with bottles. I bet it is funny to watch their wrestling matches.

I let Lily play with plastic bottles sometimes and also with the empy 12 pack boxes. I have a video of her with her head stuck in the box. It was hysterical!

I can't think of any other out of the ordinary item that she plays with---what about yall?
She does love paper towels and we seem to use alot of those because of her accidents.

I guess mine are kind of boring? I really can't think of one thing they would play with? Don't even think you're going to get then to go after a ball. Not going to happen!

great idea with the 2 litre bottle.. as a diet coke junkie, I am now a toy mill for Buddy, LOL I was worried about him being a chewer, esp. with 3 tornado-children (all sons, 10,7,4) leaving toys around. Since this is his first week owning us, I have been keeping a CLOSE eye on him- not that we couldn't stand to lose a few toys, mind you, but for his own safety! The only thing so far he thinks is for him are G.I.Joe combat helmets, LOL.. he doesn't chew em up, just tosses them around... wonder how such a manly guy like GIJoe would feel about wearing hoochy helmets??? javascript:adds(";D")

Mowgli & Baloo are constantly finding strange items to play with. They love to "fight" over one item...last week they spent three days playing with a Skoal lid (that a worker I guess had left in the yard)...but they had sooo much fun with that!
This week it's a chalkboard eraser and a huge hunk of weed tarp they pulled out of the garden.
They sneak a lot of things out of the trash and the house! But I'll never forget the day I saw them in the backyard playing tug-of-war with one of the teenager two-leggers purple bra! It's bad enough that they got it...but someone had to let them outside with it, right???

Have to tell you that Lucy and Ethel play hard the same way! They lay down on opposite ends of the family room, but still able to view one another. Then Lucy starts with her low growly sound, and Ethel stares. Now mind you, we are all sitting either on the wrap around couch, or the recliner so we all have a view. All of a sudden they are playing hiding seek and playing the basset 500 around the coffe table, the recliner and under the table. Then when one catches up to the other, there is a little hockey or football action, and the body checking is unbelievable! Sometimes a little rougher than I think they should be - so we say to them, you wanna go to jail? Meaning being gated in the kitchen, (where they usually just lay on their pillow loungers) and they refrain for about two seconds, then Ethel gets up on her hind legs and the charge and attack is on again.....This sounds like a definate trait in our breed. Comics! A day does not go by without us laughing!
Love to all, Sandi and her girls

Miss Lulu Belle loves a good empty 2 liter and so did our Cocker Spaniel, Stew (ATB). They both do the same thing with it though...Lulu runs around with it hanging out the side of her mouth and whacking it on everything she passes as she trots around the house like the queen of everything. The best part is when she tries to go between the two recliners and gets stuck. She becomes the quintessential doofus It takes her a good minute to figure out that she and the bottle aren't going to make it through the tiny space together. Rather than leave the bottle behind she'll just lay down smooshed in between them, bottle safely tucked into her jowl... I love her! Jeanne
