I have to tell you all this. My husband and I were on our way out for dinner and saw a man about two blocks from our house with a basset. I made him pull over so I could talk with him about his pup. Would you believe that he had one of Lexie's sisters? I got so excited to see Rose. If we hadn't been on our way to eat, I would have come home and gotten Lexie. Oh well, I'm sure that we will see them again. My baby may have a play mate!

Yahooooooooo How exciting. On another board I once belonged to we posted our hounds birthdays. A lady emailed after this and asked where I had gotten sadie as her Beau had the same B.D. Wellllllllllllllllllll Beau is Sadies brother and lives about 30 miles from us. We have visited twice and had a reunion. Such fun.

Wow I bet you was over the top on that one! How awesome! ! ! You guys could get together and do little puppy picknicks and stuff!
I love when I find someone with a Basset around here though it don't happen often. Bassets are not that popular where I am.
Was your husband as excited as you or doe he look at you like my wife does me! haha..
That really is great news!

That is so sweet! I know Lily's brothers and sisters are mostly in Orlando...Wish they were closer but we drove almost 2 hours for her.
OH! And you aren't the only one that pulls over when they see a Basset with their slave..LOL

My husband was just as excited as I was. Actually on his way to work last week, he called me and said that he saw a man being walked by a basset. We knew that he lived somewhere close by, we just had no idea they were sisters.
Cool story JoAnn!
I'll let you all know how they do once they meet again. I think we should wait until the stitches come out. What do you think?

Lexie got to play with her sister today. I laughed at them, they were wild. I was a little worried because Lexie still has stitches from her surgery. It didn't seem to bother her one bit. My husband says I'm a overprotective mom. One good thing that came out of it is Lexie is pooped and hasn't budged in the last hour!

I bet she had so much fun! I wonder if they actually remember each other.

I think so---they were nose to nose and sniffed all over each other. Lexie usually stands off from other dogs and trys to hide---not this time!

Hanna and Harley got to see one their babies "Zepher" and was so excited! I'm sure they knew one another.

We have tried to find Lucy and Ethel's siblings (6) in total, but have had no success in the past. They were born in Braintree, MA in November of 2001 and their Mother's name is Mazie and Dad's name is Hunter. Any of their siblings out there? If so, would love to hear from them..... L and E's Mom, Sandi
p.s. as far as seeing other Basset's when we're out! The whole family is hooked! We see one, we stop! In Fact, on my way to pick up Friday nights' pizza a couple of weeks ago, this happened. Needless to say I arrived home with very very cold pizza, - Oh well, isn't that what we have ovens for?

I think it's pretty cool that my parent's have my Gus's sister and their aunt. They have a little family reunion every time I do. ;D
Our neighborhood seems to have a bunch of Bassets. our neighbor about 3 blocks down has a 120 lb Basset!!! It's not that he's overweight either... He's just a giant! I'm 5'6" and when Jake jumps up, his head is right under my chin. Gus is about 60 lbs and when he jumps, he's at about my belly button!
I found out that our neighbor that is 3 doors down has 2 Bassets, but I've never seen them, nor their food slaves. I saw that they have a Basset flag out. Maybe I'll stop by and introduce myself. We are new to the neighborhood, so we don't know many of the neighbors yet.

ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY POUNDS----what the heck to they feed that dog? I just can't imagine. The hounds are a great way to meet the neighbors and maybe find someone nice for your baby to play with.

They got Jake from a rescue a couple of years ago. He was already 3 years old, 120 lbs, and had been with 4 different owners. They said they put him on a diet, and that he lost a little weight, but not much. He doesn't look fat. He just looks big. His head is huge! When Gus stands next to Jake, Gus looks like a pup!

120 lbs!!! OMGosh! That would make him 5 times bigger than Lillian! I can't even imagine it. I would love to see a picture that big guy. Any way you can get one to post??

I keep meaning to bring the camera when I take Gus for a walk. At 60 lbs, Gus is no lightweight, so he'll be a good size comparison!
