Bad Day

I have had one bad day from the moment my feet hit the floor. After working over time, rushing to the store after work, having an upsetting message waiting on me when I got home and then realizing that I didn't get everything that I needed from the store, I was about to have one heck of a break down. Lexie was barking and running around like someone stole her favorite toy. I was watching her entertain me when she stood on her back legs and reached up to a wooden bar stool. The bar stool went backwards and hit the floor. It scared the wizz out of Lexie--she ran behind the couch and peeked around to see what the heck was going on. When I finally got her to come out---she crawled over to the stool. I had been on the verge of tears and Lexie changed it all for me---I laughed my hinney off thinking all the time how I love this dog. Why do we let the un-important junk bring us down???

I am sorry you had such a crappy day. But it sure is good to have such a wonderful pup isn't it? I know there are times I want to scream but she really helps me to see what is really important. I think us Basset slaves are onto something great. We found a friend that is a clown, a sweetie, a couch potato, a speed demon, and a cute little devil all wrapped up in one darling package.

*laugh* Yeah... My husband and I will have a petty argument about something stupid, like leaving the toilet seat up (my pet peeve) or not hanging up a coat (his pet peeve). In runs our floppy earred midget, flipping a toy into the air, and the tension breaks as we go into gales of laughter.

Suffice it to say my hounds are keeping me sane right now and that is a huge undertaking. They are priceless.
