Well, Lillian had some play time with Lulu today! We were walking her and we walk by Lulu's house. Well, as we were coming down their side of the street, Lulu and her momma and sister were waiting for us in their driveway! YAY!!! So we went in and the girls had so much fun running around the yard and through the house while we got to watch. They were so cute! Lulu had Lily down and was laying on her. I thought she was gonna squash her for sure. But they got up and then it was Lulu's turn to lay down for Lily. Lily never could have made her get down since Lulu is twice as big, but she layed down for her to be nice. LOL. After we came home, Lily layed on the couch and has been there ever since. Gotta love it!

It is so funny to watch them play. We just got home with Lexie---we took her to play with a 11 week old lab. Lexie is much bigger but the lab has longer arms and was able to pin her down easier. I will be so happy when her stitches come out so we can play hard.

I can't say how happy I am that I have found someone for Lily to play with. I am always so worried about her being lonely. I was laying on the couch with her tonight and she snuggled up under my arm and started snoring and I just had to rub her ear and smile. Last time that she went for a play date, I didn't go with her and when they brought her home, she tried to leave with them. I felt so bad and thought that maybe she wasn't happy with me or I was a bad momma or something. But I am sure I was being silly because today I leashed her and called her and she trotted off with me happily without even looking back. I felt really relieved because I had been really worrying about it. I feel kind of dumb for worrying so much but I guess it is like having a child and wanting them to be happy.
It is great that you have found others for Lexie to play with too! I really think that they need to be able to interact with other doggies. Not only is it good for them socially, but emotionally, and physically as well.

Isn't great to see our houndies have a great time with new found friends? Just makes a mother smile.

It is fun for them to have playmates! It's finally nicer here and Mowgli & Baloo played outside all night. Endless Basset 500s...wrestling, romping. When they came in they were exhuasted! I found them both upstairs asleep in Mowgli's bed by 8:00 p.m.!!
A bit later we tried to get Baloo to go out before she went to bed...she was sooo tired that when my husband put her on the step...she layed down. Then he moved her to the patio...and she went completely flat and was asleep second later.
They really are like little kids!!!

Well, I guess as long as it doesn't get too hot, you can expect those nights a lot this summer! Just another reason I wish I had TWO!

It is fun when the pooches get to play, isn't it? I think Gus would wander off with anyone who gave him a pat. He just loves everybody! We will be getting our 2nd dog in May. A grey and white Landseer Newfoundland puppy. My husband is working on the big doggie play room in the basement right now. It was supposed to be our rec room, but we both know it's going to be the romp room for quite a while. I'd help, but I am sick as a dog (no pun intended). I came down with one of those nasty colds that keeps you up all night. The in-laws are supposed to come tomorrow to visit, so I should be cleaning, but all I want to do is sleep.

As much as we love to have people visit, they always seem to come when someone is sick! I am sorry you are feeling so terrible. Take some nyquil..lol.
I love Newfoundlands. I think they are just gorgeous! If I had room for a dog like that, I would love to have one. I saw the picture of him on another site that you posted at and he is a cutie. He was pretty small when I saw the picture, do you have any more?
Please try to feel better!!

Thankfully, when the in-laws heard that I was sick, they opted not to come. Grandma-in-law (I'm still so new at all of this that I don't know what to call anyone ) is flying out to Florida on Thursday and doesn't want to risk getting sick. We are still waiting for more pictures of the Newfie pup. Apparently, the breeder doesn't have a digital camera nor a scanner. So, they have to take the film to get developed and then take the photos to her sister's house. I hope we get some soon. I'm curious about this little guy. Oh well... If not, we are supposed to go visit the breeder on Easter Monday. We'll take plenty of pics then.

You will be able to see him again soon! YAY! How old is he now? When will you be able to pick him up? Are you planning on doing any special training with him? I love them because they are good water dogs and we spend a lot of time near the water since we live on the east coast of Florida. I would wonder if it would be too hot here for a Newfie since they have such a thick coat. Good to hear that the in-laws put off their plans. We had friends from Hawaii come at new years and Dave was so sick we didn't get to do much with them. It wasn't much fun for any of us.
Take care and keep us posted on your new addition!

I guess he's about 4 weeks old now? 4 or 5.
We'll bring him home over the 2nd weekend of May. Supposedly, he's already really vocal. I hope he doesn't do what Gus did when we picked him up! Gus cried and screamed during the entire hour and a half drive. This will be a 4 and a half hour drive!
My husband wants to do some field and water trials with Gandalf, once he's big enough. We can't show him, not only because he's on a limited registration, but because him coloring is not part of the breed standard. But we just aren't the showing types anyway.
