For the last two days, Lexie has been making a sniff noise---it's almost like she is trying to blow her nose. Hubby said that when he took her out two days ago that she rooted her nose in dirt and he thought that was the problem. We have an appointment wednesday to get her stitches removed but I'm wondering if I should take her now. Is this a noise that your hounds make?

Could she be sneezing?

No, not really. It's a short sound that only lasts for a second but she is doing it all the time. I'm worried that something is wrong with her.

Wonder if she got something stuck up her nose? If it were me, I would probably try to take her early but that is just because I tend to over react to things like that . Maybe someone with a little more experience can help out with this one....

If she is still doing it in the morning, I am going to take her. I hope I am overreacting but I just don't understand. She is in her crate right now and I have not heard a peep out of her. I wonder if she is feeling bad? If anyone else can offer some advice, I'm listening!

Does it sound like she's blowing out through her nose, or is it more like a snort in?
Our one little mixed breed used to have what the vet called "inverted sneezes". She'd be walking along and suddenly start this weird snorting. It sounded like she couldn't breath and she'd stop walking while she snorted. I'd pick her up and she'd usually stop after a few seconds. I guess she had some sort of grass allergy.
I've hear Gus do the inverted sneeze twice now.

Yes, it sounds like she is blowing out and not in. So far this morning, she hasn't been doing it as often as she has in the last few days. I guess I'll wait and see what the doc says on Wednesday.
