These are the pics of the pet expo in Melbourne last weekend , I have only shown the Basset stand in the dog section, the expo has on display every type of pet you could ever want, there were cats of every type you could imagine,we had 100s of visitors each day for the 3 days the expo was on, Snoopy and Nikki were cuddled and kissed by almost every visitor to the stand and had a lick of the odd ice cream lol..A champ show was held on the Sunday and Snoopy won best of breed..The purpose of the basset display was to allow hands on contact with the bassets and interaction between the bassets and children to highlight the temperament of our breed. A quite moment Snoopy on the left Nikki in the pen. Snoopy meeting a young visitor. Snoopy and Nikki on the carpet waiting to interact with visitors Me Snoopy and Nikki enjoying a rest from visitors,

Wow Harry that's awesome! Looks like it would have been a lot of fun. Great idea I wish they had something like that around where I live.
Congrats Snoopy! All the hounds looked beautiful and so happy to be there!

I have to say your hounds are gorgeous. I loved the picture with the little baby! It sure shows how our beloved breeds are so sweet with children. That is exactly why I decided on a Basset to begin with (other than how cute they are of course!). What a great opportunity to share our breed with the public. Wish we had something like that here.

That looks like a TON of fun. I wish Ellie May could sit so calmly (in a public forum, she'll lay around the house all day and not mutter a word.) That arena looks like a good reason to run around and get into lots of trouble.
You're hounds are BEAUTIFUL!!
Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful idea. We have something similar here in Sacramento to feature rescues and what we do. Mine always go. Sadie is the queen and acts so regal, Linus is just the huggy bunny type and loves the atttention. Ben, on the other hand, is a challenge. He couldn't sit still and behave for anything. We call him our little gang banger. He was found running the streets before we got him and getting that out of his blood has been a slow process.
