Vet Visit

Flash had to go to the vets office today. I noticed her boobs were all lumping looking and hot so I called and they told me that I needed to bring her in. So I loaded up my boys and all 12 hounds and to the vets office we went. My mom met us over there. The vet laughed, he said that was a much loved momma dog and pups.

Anyway, Flash's milk was starting to mess up. I cannot remember the exact word he called it but it was not good. He said had of it gotten worse her and the pups would be sick. But her milk looked fine and her and the pups were looking and feeling fine so she is on meds to get rid of it before it gets worse. He said the meds would not hurt the pups and for me to keep a eye on her boobs.

Other than the milk he said to put her on puppy chow,it has more in it. And that the pups looked GREAT! And that mom and grandmom were doing a great job. I told him I was feeding them in shifts,he said with that may pups that, thats what I needed to be doing. So that way the little ones get to eat too.

Fingers crossed that everything is smooth sailing from here on out.

You're a good grandma. You knew what you needed to be doing! I'm glad that you caught the problem before it got any worse.. I cannot imagine having to buy puppy formula for 11 puppies until she got better!

I cannot quite imagine the parade you made going into the vet's. That must have been quite a sight.

Glad you caught it early and that it shouldn't interfer with her nursing.

Beulah had the same thing both times she had puppies. I hope everthing will be fine now. Puppy and flash pictures soon I hope.
