I missed this thread earlier, Joann, but luckily I still had time to donate.
Good luck with your fund raising and have a great time at the Waddle. And, of course, keep up the great work for all the homeless houndies. Maybe some day we won't have any to worry about.

Chris thank you so much your donation was more than generous. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we didn't have to be involved and all the hounds were in safe and loving homes?

Yes, in an ideal world!
Yesterday was bittersweet for me. We had a basset in a local kill shelter that our rescue was able to pull! That was the good news.
Sadly, the day before a man (mastiff rescue) found 2 bassets on the side of the road. One had been hit by a car and was too badly injured to be saved. Her companion is now in foster care. Maybe the owners are looking for them, but I haven't seen any "lost" posters or ads.
I don't know what type of the life the female had (and don't even know her name - how tragic!) but at least I know in the last few hours of her life she was surrounded by people who cared for her. I still get tears in my eyes thinking of it.
I also know that all the dogs who went to the Bridge before her will give her a warm welcome, a special spot at the buffet and that she is pain free.
So, I am thrilled to be able to help out the rescues.
