Dart came home from the vet with several prescriptions (Rimadyl and Baytril). I fed everyone and then remembered I had to give him his pills. I got the pills, gave them to Dart and by then everyone had finsihed eating and wanted to go out.
In the ensuing chaos of some coming in and some going out I didn't remember I had left the pill bottles on the counter. a few minutes later I found the empty, well chewed bottles on the bedroom floor.
Of course I have no idea who ate them. So I called the vet thinking that I'd either have to bring them all in to have their stomachs pumped or I'd have to induce vomiting. Boy did I luck out! He said the worst that would happen would be some vomiting or diarhea but that it wasn't a fatal dose. So I've been watching them sleep all morning - checking on them every 15 minutes or so. It's been about 4 hours and no one is showing any signs of distress.
What a way to start they day! I feel so incredibly dumb.

I know exactly how scary that is! A couple years ago, Sophie got into Chris's Vicodin prescription. He didn't remember how many pills he had left and there were pills all over the bed, so of course I freaked out. We induced vomiting, but apparently she only wanted the bottle because there were no pills in her stomach. It was very scary.
I'm sorry you had to deal with that. The panic must have been awful! Do you have to go pick up more pills for Dart?
Don't feel dumb either! I am constantly forgetting that I have hounds. Mine have learned how to sneak into the bathroom and run off with trash without me seeing them and I am standing RIGHT THERE. They are crafty little devils.

Yes, I have to get more pills for Dart. Someone had an expensive snack!! Guess I can't complain about the price of treats again.
They can be so quiet and so sneaky when they want something. I should know to NEVER underestimate a houndie!
