am so upset! This is the first time I have had such a horrible experience with this vet.
On Thursday I brought Dart in because it seemed to me there was bleeding. The vet (not the head guy) looked at Dart and said it was normal drainage and packed some gauze pads around the area it was leaking. She said to bring Dart back this morning to have the bandage changed.
Hubby brings Dart in this morning and when they take off the bandage they discover that the stitches hadn't held - hence the bleeding. So they are keeping him til Monday. I didn't find out about this until after they closed for the day. I don't know what I would've done - taken him home or to another vet....
Please keep that drool coming. I am so scared for my baby.

Oh good Lord. I'm glad they kept him, but I too wish you would have found out about this before they closed. IMHO I would speak to your regular vet about this. If you don't get any satisfaction I would be changing vets in a heartbeat. Gentle hugs to you both.

Poor little Dart, I don't see how a vet could miss a stitch coming a part, I think I would talk to the reg vet and tell him how unhappy I was. I know how busy they are , we have to get an appointment with ours just to see him, or you get his assocates, and they usually are new vets. Try not to worry I'm sure he well be fine, I know how hard it is to wait. Sending all the drool , me and the hounds can give .

It is Monday now so I am hoping that Dart is doing much better. The hounds haven't let up on sending you some drool. Sophie even stole some cookie batter to help get her juices flowing. Please keep us updated. I cannot even imagine the worry you went through over the weekend! Were you able to call and stay updated with him? What other options do they have if the stitches won't hold?

Thanks for all the drool. And a big thanks to Sophie for stealing the cookies!
It's strange how one "missing" dog makes the house seem so empty. Dart is my protecter hound. He sleeps next to me wherever I am. I kept looking at the floor all weekend to avoid stepping on him.
I have a couple more hours til I can talk to the head vet. The clock is moving very slowly.

I had this happen to me once with Fancy. It seems like everything moves twice as slow and the weekend would never end. Sending more drool your way.
