One of the ladies that is getting a pup...... Big Red..... is a CNA at the local nursing homes. She called last night and asked ifI would bring a few of the pups up there this morning for the residents to see. I agreed,of course. I took Big Red,the Runt, and Little Momma, all dressed up in a red bow. That had to be one of the best mornings I have had in a long time. They just LOVED the pups. There was this one guy, about my age, that was a victim of a violent crime and was bed ridden, and cannot speak. We put the pups in the bed with him. And they ran right up and started licking him on the chin and cheeks. His face just lit up. You could tell he loved them. I hated to take them back from him.
My mom does Medicare/Medicaid billing for 10 homes and that was one of them. She is gonna find out what I have to do to start bringing Caboose up there. I was told that he just needed his shots. I had trained Flash to do therapy, but she has gotten snappy w/ men I am worried she may snap at people. But if I can start taking Caboose up there now, then it will be a way of life for him.
Hopefully I can take them back soon.

What a wonderful thing to do! Dogs can help so much in situations like that.
How tragic for that guy who was the victim of a violent crime. I'm glad the pups gave him some joy. I cannot imagine being bedridden and speechless.
I hope you can do it again!

That is awesome that you got to do that. I would love to be able to take mine someplace like that, but they would knock everyone over in their rush to say hi to everyone. The story about the guy made me smile.. It is horrible what happened to him, but it is so nice to see that he can still find joy in such small packages. I hope you are able to get Caboose into that kind of stuff.

Are you going to the nursing again? Wouldn't it be cute to put alittle red white and blue bandanna on them and take for the fourth of July?

That is so sweet, Kristol. I'm sure everyone enjoyed your houndie pups and it sounds like Caboose is going to become a regular. To spend your time bringing joy to those folks is really something you should be proud of. I know we are all proud of you for it.
