These pups are gonna be the death of me. Yesterday, after everyone was wormed and fed. David and I put all the pups into the tub,to rinse them off. 10 pups + 1 can of wet food = BIG MESS Anyway, one of the white ones is VERY greedy, just like her daddy. She had a full belly from the food and loaded up on bath water ( no soap). Well she kept getting it in her nose, after I got her out and dried her off, I noticed she was coughing and hacking. I gave her about a hour and she was not getting any better. I just knew she had inhaled too much water. So I call the vet, and he met me at the office. He said that she probably did inhale some but not enough that he was hearing it. Which is a good thing. Then he looked at her belly, and when he went to pushing on it she went to screaming. He said that she had ate and drank way too much and was in pain. So he gave her a shot of meds and for pain. And she is on meds for a while, just to make sure that she does not get an infection in her lungs. But if she gets to coughing like that again to call him and he would have to put her on another med to dry up the water. He said that is she was older he would have done it yesterday, but he felt like it would do her more harm than good. But he said she should be fine I never thought I'd see the day where I had to pay $116.72 for a pup that snorted water and had a belly ache.

I love the puppy stories, Kristol - but I bet they are funnier to me than you. At least for a while.
Poor baby - eating and drinking too fast! She's definitely a basset!
I just have mental pictures of you trying to get around all the pups and everyone else! It's a good thing they are so cute.
Give them all kisses for me! And keep up the good work.

Poor little baby! I know how I feel when I eat and drink too much. I just couldn't imagine all those little basset babies in the tub. I hope you took a picture of them in the tub. I'm glad she will be fine.

Lol, what a typical basset. Is that why you were asking me yesterday how to make a dog throw up? I felt bad because I was signed in on my phone and I was driving when you IMed me and I didn't get it until I stopped at the store. I am glad everything was okay, but man, what a bill! Have you thought about just feeding them in the tub? It seems like it would be a lot less hassle!

Yeah, I had logged in to see if I could find out on line. I thought if I made her throw it up she would feel better. But while I was on line I just gave up and called the vet. I did not want to make it worse. I was one for just a second. I did not take a pic but I will next time. 3 of them got stuck in the the vent this morning. Ours are in the floor. Don't ask me how they got in there, cause I have NO clue. Thankfully, when I stuck my hand in there they all came right to me. I have not thought about feeding them in the tub, that is a good idea. I put a towel down and the bowls on the towel. Not like it helps much. My floor gets mopped about 8 times a day. 10 Pups makes for alot of mess!!!!!!

LOL!! They are sure causing mischief - as any good puppy should.
Dare I ask if you are getting any sleep?
I fI were close I'd come by and help out. I could get my puppy fix without the responsibility. I hope you know that despite my laughter, I truly am sympathetic.

I have a childs swimming pool I keep my pups in and when it got dirty I just hosed it down which was a lot of times a day. I feed them in there to I used a large cookie sheet and put the food in and when they got done I just washed them with a wash cloth and and took them out and washed the pool it was a life saver. Then when they got bigger, I got a large one to keep them from roaming. Bless you,I wish I could help too. when it starts getting easy they are ready to adopt and then you miss them so much.
