It was 3 years ago my grumpy houndie came to live with us. She was so incredibly scared for the first couple of days. Now she is more of a loner, but definitely not scared! She didn't know how to play when she arrived. That was the saddest thing of all to me! I spent hours on my hands and knees teaching her how. Now she'll play occassionally, but far prefers to snooze on the couch. She also guards me during my baths. She lays beside the tub and will jump up on the side to make sure I haven't slid down the drain. Happy Gotcha Day my sweet baby girl!

I had to take Mags to the vet to have her stitches out. So I leave her there and run to the store for Frosty Paws. To my dismay they don't have a single one!!! The only store that might carry them was another 30 minute drive. Since I didn't want to risk the vet closing before I got back I gave up my hunt for Frosty Paws.
Tomorrow I'll be in the "big city" and will track some down. I'm sure they will forgive me for being a day late.

I have a recipe for home made frosty paws if you ever want it. I made them for Sophie's birthday party once and there were plenty!
What is wrong with Maggie? Why did she get stitches?

I know you weren't talking to me, but....yes please!! I have no idea where to buy the things around here and every time I hear mention of Frosty Paws, I feel incredibly guilty that Scully has never had one!

Haha, I bought them for Sophie when she was spayed, but I don't like spending that much money on just 4 little containers that she goes through in no time flat. This recipe is much more cost effective! -----------------------------------------
Ingredients: 32 oz. plain yogurt (I use fat free yogurt) 1 mashed banana 2 T peanut butter 2 T honey
Directions: Blend all ingredients together in blender. Once blended, pour into ice cube trays, small paper cups (the kind that are slightly waxy are best for this) or a kong toy. Freeze. -----------------------------------------
When I made it, I just put it in a regular 13 X 9 pan and stuck it in the freezer. I haven't made them again, but the next time I make them, I plan to line a bigger pan with wax paper, then pop them in the freezer (easier removal) or just use cupcake tins. When the stuff is mostly frozen, you can use a cookie cutter to cut it into shapes, put it on a fresh piece of wax paper and stick it back in the freezer until fully frozen. Just give the little scraps the the hound(s) to tie them over until the frosty paws are completely ready. If you choose not to do that, I would at least take them out and pre-cut them into squares because they are a PAIN to cut once frozen.

Thanks - it looks cheaper than Frosty Paws and very healthy! Hubby's out of town for 2 weeks so I can give it a try without his "supervision".
Maggie had a small cyst on her leg and was due for a dental, so she had both down about 2 weeks ago. Sicne we had so many problem's with Dart's incision the vet used staples instead of stitches. Maggie didn't so much as lick it once. I'll be she didn't know the staples were there. I wish all my dogs would react like that!
