You are SO SILLY!!! How could we ever get tired of seeing those beautiful faces. It's an added bonus that you take such wonderful pics.
I'll do a rain dance for you if you'll do one for us!! We get thunderboomers every afternoon, the sky gets dark and we get NO rain. It's really not fair.
What a weird couple of years it's been for weather.

You can never post too many pictures! That first one is my favorite and I really like the house in the last one. Is that your house? Thanks for posting these right before I leave. I am getting my hound fix ahead of time!

I miss all the beautiful shades of green you get back east!!! I love NM, but we don't get those beautiful colors!
And Grace CAN'T take a bad pic!
I agree that the weather is weird. I don't know if I should blame global warming, el nino, el nina or something else! We had a couple of days of "cool" 80's and we're back into the high 90's. I am just trying to keep my perennials alive and hope that next year is kinder.

I've lived in the mountains all my life,It amases me when I travel , just how defferent things are other places, I'm so lucky to be be in the country and be able to go to the city in a matter of minutes.I have peace and quite and if I want noise I just cross the state line and can be in the busel of shops and traffic. The worst part is the city problems spill over out here..the walk me and Grace took was really dangerouse cause the road is sucluded and no one lives for miles down it and I think drug usesers use it. Its a shame...

I don't know if you have a big probelm with meth labs where you are, but they are getting more common out here. I looked at some land that I wanted to buy for a getaway, but the area has several meth labs in it.
Big city problems and crime are (sadly) being exported to the country.

We could never see to many of your pics!!! Is there a such thing as too many basset pics? Your hounds ( and hound wanna be's) are beautiful!!!
I agree with the weather. I don;t know what is going on....all I know is it was 104 here today with a heat index of 111. Way to hot for my big butt and the hounds! I cut all of Ernest's hair off this morning. He is not the most beautiful thing (Shhh, don't tell him) but he is alot cooler.
The labs are getting bad here too. They had a HUGE bust out here the other day. They had cops from 3 parishes and some from Tx.

When I was a whole lot younger and drugs were becoming fairly common we didn't have the drugs that are out there today. We'd go out at night and smoke a couple of joints along with a bottle of wine and basically mellowed out. We didnt get into the drug rages that I see today with crystal meth etc.
Not that I am condoning drugs - I'm not - but it was a lot safer back then!

Well I'm pretty stupid when it comes to drugs...so I don't know..I read in the papers of areas across the state line haveing the meth labs in hotels and in areas down there. They keep this area pretty clean cause everyone knows everyone and they patrol through here alot. I have a supecition that they sell and drop off stuff down this road cause its got chug holes you could fall in and fancy cars go down it a lot. my neighbors are so noisey ,not much gets past them they know every move I make and If I don't walk ,they stop and check to see if something is wrong, once Joe wasn't wearing his hat and he came early to give me a movie and a guy up the road was going to work ..called my neighbor.. and he came out to see who it was at my house. They can tell you who visits me and how often. If someone moves in and lived here10 years they are still concedered them new people. nobody calls Jim by his name he is Kerns, I'm Helen , you know Robert and Dorsies kid...and look how old I am. When my mom and dad died the house was full of people hours after they died. If a relative or a friend dies some one comes to the house before I read it in the paper to tell me. I'm pretty sure they even got a place at the Church cemetery left for me and Jim and the kids cause they want let nobody be buried in a small area..close to my family.right up front. Well thats my life.....and it don't end with one generation peoples grandchildren talk the same way I maynot know them, but they know me and stop and talk to me like... I'm their relative.I guess I wave at 20 people a day and if I don't watch and walk at a slow time everyone stops and talks to me, it don't matter If traffic is backed up.My home town.
