It's a beautiful 80 degrees in Virgina---Hubby left for his fishing trip this morning so it's just me and the kids--Lexie, Maggie and Jazzy. I went and bought mulch and some flowers and thought I would tie Lexie up to enjoy the sunshine and so I could keep a eye on her. Before I knew it, she was rooted in the new much and chewing the tops of the new flowers and really enjoying herself. I spent two hours doing yard work and probably an additional hour cleaning up Lexie's mess. Now guess where she is--asleep! How was your weekend??

Well here in beautiful "sunny" Ca. It is 50 and raining Hubby started our pellet stove and filled the whole house with smoke. He now has it is pieces and is replacing the heating element. I have sesame beef ribs simmmering in the crockpot and fresh green beans and bacon on the stove. If it feels like winter I will cook like it as well. I must admit it is a nice change to be able and sit and veg for a while. My HUGE accomplishment for the day has been moving laundry from the washer to the dryer. I do believe we will all die before the NASCAR race is over. WHATEVER you do DO NOT change the channel when the watcher has left the room. It's not worth the lecture on "how do you know it won't start at any minute?" Cause I know epoxy doesn't dry in a split second !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Further more I think they will have to red flag the race as the patch is destroyed after a few laps. But being the intelligent woman I am I have not voiced THAT opinion!!!! Just another typical Sunday here ;D ;D ;D ;D

oh JoAnn that cracked me up... and yes... any intelligent woman knows that an opinion typed is MUCH better than one voiced... Thank God that is one sport my hubby isn't very into! Baseball yes, but I too am addicted (Go Cubs!) so that isn't so bad. Buddy helped me do yard work the other day too... and he really actually was helpful, if you can believe it! I was pruning bushes that haven't been touched in several millenia I believe, (we moved in here last summer) and every branch I took down, I would give to him and he would go to lay in a certain spot and chew on it, until I had another for him. The result was a big, neatly stacked brush pile... I am sure he won't be happy on burn day though! Our weekend weather was AWESOME!! Have a little color even, which is a great change from michigan pasty white!

I stand corrected (so glad I didn't voice my opinion) the epoxy did hold and after a hour and half delay the race did start again.
Hubby fixed the pellet stove and Rusty Wallace finally won one. Yippeee!!!!!!!! I got my laundry done and read half a book. It as a good day.

Oh Lexie can join our landscaping business! My momma spent many hours carefully planing rose bushes...that night we dug them all up in just a new minutes! We also ate ALL the tops off the new flowers and dug up several bushes...roots and all!
We ate all the bags of new potting soil and dragged the dirt all around. Then we ate the wires of the landscape lighting and pulled up the new weed tarp...that stuff looks vewy pwetty all around the yard.
Talk about pooped...that was all over one weekend!

Well, I have a gardener for you also. Boomer also like chewing on the mulch. We have a couple of plants that he likes to help cultivate (chewing on) ;D We are putting in mulch this comming weekend and will need to shortening Boomer's lead in order to get it done in time for him to rearrange it.
We are from Delaware and had just come in from California this weekend ( in time to see the race, that's how i met my husband, working with an electronics company on the racing circuit). California had started raining and we came back to a beautiful 80 degree weekend in Delaware. I don't think they have figured out this weekend yet. It is starting to rain here. Have a great rest of the week.

funny, buddy doesn't do much to dig or anything so far... his favorite activity though is telling the world they are "his" trees, flowers, etc.. in only the way a bassett could... with one leg raised!
