The Day Before Christmas
Tis the day before Christmas, and all through the house,
The puppies are squeaking and old rubber mouse.
the wreath which had merrily hung on the door,
Is scattered in pieces all over the floor.
The stockings that hung in a neat little row,
Now boast a hole in each one of the toes.
The tree was subjected to bright-eyed whims,
And now, although splendid, it's missing some limbs.
I catch them and hold them, be good I insist.
They lick me, then run off to see what they've missed.
And now as I watch them, the thought comes to me,
That theirs is the spirit that Christmas should be.
Should children and puppies yet show us the way,
And teach us the joy that should come with this day?
Could they bring the message that's written above,
And tell us that, most of all, Christmas is Love!
The Pooch's Pledge
1. Christmas is for humans, and I will not ruin the surprises by opening all their presents.
2. Christmas light bulbs, ornaments, stockings, and tinsel from the Christmas tree are not food.
3. I will not demolish the Christmas tree and drag the string of lights to the backyard through the pet door.
4. I will be tolerant when my owner puts fake antlers and decorations on me.
5. I will not dive into the Christmas tree to get the candy canes (which I used to eat - wrapper and all).
6. I will not eat my Christmas doggie treats until after they're put in my stocking.
7. The bowl underneath the Christmas tree is not a dog dish. I will not drink from it. It will make me sick.
Everyone be safe ..stay warm..hug everyone you love and have a really wonderful day..
