The good news is that Sophie didn't use the bathroom in her kennel at all last night. She woke Daddy up 4 times to tell him to let her out. Good thing Mommy's deaf or I would be cranky today!
The bad news is that she went to the vet today and she is starting to get a UTI. The vet said we caught it early (thanks to you guys. We probably would have tried the whole putting her in a smaller kennel thing before realizing that she was peeing a lot more than usual) and he gave her antibiotics and we got her more up to date on her shots/ vaccinations/etc.
More bad news.. It was almost $200. The good news is that we didn't have to pay to have a cystocentesis done which would have been even more.
Anyway, thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate it. I'm glad we caught it before it became too much worse because when she's miserable, everyone's miserable! ;D

I'm glad that you took your baby to see the vet man. Lexie still has 5 days left of her antiobotics. Tell your hubby that he should get a better night's sleep. We could tell a huge difference in her after the first day.
Since hounds are prone to yeast, we give her her morning pill with yogurt and her even pill with pumpkin. Yogurt for yeast...pumpkin for the runny stool. She is doing much better...hope you baby is feeling better soon!

Yeah, it was a lot of money! But that's okay, it will be reimbursed by Uncle Sam when our tax returns come back in! lol

He got a great night's sleep last night. Sophie only woke him up at 7am and then he got to sleep in until 10:15 before she was ready to play. Pumpkin? Like the pumpkin pie stuff or an actual pumpkin? I'm glad your baby is feeling better! Sophie was pretty unhappy, so I imagine yours was too

Pumpkin pie filling right out of the can. Make sure it doesn't have any spices. Our vet lady said it was good for diarrhea and the antiobotic sure has upset her tummy. We keep it on hand just incase!
I'm glad that your baby had a good night!

UTIs are not fun to deal with. I also have a Sophie, who will be 9 this year, and she seems to get them whenever she has to have a surgery. It must do with the "no food or water after midnight" followed by (after the surgery), "no food or water until after 6 p.m." After a while, you learn to discern the symptoms at an earlier stage. What I like to do if I suspect that my Soph has one brewing, is whenever she goes out for a pee, I take along a piece of white paper towel and quickly slide it under her when she squats. If there's blood present in the urine, then I know for sure she has a bug brewing in her bladder.
