Hello All my Friends, I am still here and the 7 week old puppies are everywhere!! This weekend was a very tough & sad one for me ! I had to say good bye and send my Precious Gabby to the Bridge. If you have all read my page Gabby suffered a very serious allergic reaction to her annual vaccination 2 years ago. When this happened Gabby's brain was deprived of oxygen for a bit long than it should have and she should have never pulled through but did. However it left her with some long term problems and one was a very serious aggression problem towards the other Bassets. A month after her reaction she almost killed her momma Hope and then a few weeks later took Quincy down at the fence by his throat. Not wanting to give up on her the vet ran test to see if there was anything medical and found nothing! It was a year ago I faced with putting her to sleep and my vet suggested a medication with basic reinforcement of commands! It worked well with a few outburst here and there! Well towards the fall she got a bit more and more aggressive but we move the dose of medication up per the vets advice.
Then over the past few months things esculated to the point of four very visious attacks over the last two weeks. The last one was Saturday and she meant to kill. We took her to the vet along with the puppy she got and the decision was made to let her go be free of her torment and misery. So a very heart breaking decision was made and I had to say a heart aching goodbye to Gabby! :'(I am still heart broken but I know the right thing was done as the vet said she had a problem in the brain! Gabby just turned 4 years old on 3/8/04 Please say a prayer for her! Hopefully she will find her way to Lindsey (her Grandma) that we had to put to sleep in January! This has been a tough few months on me!
