Does anyone else's bassets do t his?
When they want something (out, fresh water, walk, food, whatever) they shake their heads... flapping their ears... and with Sam (the flewsy one) the spew flies everywhere. Usually, a long line of "spew" (that's what we call basset drool) lies across his nose... and the t.v. etc....
Their ears are fine... (God help me when I do clean them, then the flapping is insane). They do it it seems on signal, upon waking for example... at the same time... and Sam has picked it up from Susie, and Susie does it more now that Sam does it.... sometimes the ear flapping drives me insane! (well, cuz I know the spew is flying all over the walls as well).
Sigh.

Lily does it after play time! She doesn't have enough drool to sling it everywhere yet, but often there is the line across the nose..lol. Gotta love it!

Ear flapping here as well. Linus has a ritual every morning!!!!! He "cleans" Sadie's and Ben's ears. Acutally it is more like swallowing. He takes their whole ear in his mouth and gives it a good slobbery massage. Sadie loves it. You can actully see her eyes roll up into to head. Ben on the other hand is like a little kid trying to avoid the washcloth. Once done.....let the ear flapping begin. I have no idea why Linus feels it is his duty to start their day this way. Everyone thinks it is soooooooooooooo cute until they get slimed during the flapping.
