This is Sam..I am desperately trying to find a new home for my Basset "Sam". He currently lives in the Jackson Mississippi Area Sam is a Wonderful Basset and extremely loving. He is about 3 1/2 years old and is not neutered. Sam is an outside dog and is very very hiper! He is registered, but papers cannot be located at this time. He wants to be spoiled, but unfortunately I cannot give him the attention he needs! I love him very much, but he deserves more than a 8- foot pin. I want Sam to go to a home maybe with other Bassets where he can be loved and appreciated. Any Advise...? Help? TUCKER1 msroof@netdoor.com

Hi, This is Sam's owner.... we are still looking for a good home. I was just explaining to someone today, that Sam is very hiper and needs a lot of attention. It is hard to find somone to take on that responsibility. He is doing Okay right now, but still hoping!!

Have you tried contacting the rescues? They will make sure he has a safe and loving home. Glad is is still safe and loved with you.

I agree with JoAnn. Actually the Rescues would have much more luck placing Sam in a home that is suited to Sams needs.
Remember their the "Good Guys"
Keeping my fingers crossed for Sam!

The No-Kill Resque league here is currently full.(No suprise) (for all dogs) The other animal resque league is NOT a "no-kill" shelter and I wouldn't dream of taking Sam there. I'm in the middle of something right now, hopefully it will work out. It is just so hard right now, due to everything going on. I just placed one of my other animals with a new family. This is so depressing..... . Thanks again to everyone!

I hope you can find Sam a home on your own. This would make you feel more comfortable. Keep in mind the rescues I posted are NOT shelters. They are in fact rescues. They will do their best to find a home for Sam. If you can not keep him with you they would find a foster to care for him until they find his forever home. He would be well taken care of and your heart could be a t rest.

Also, in contacting a rescue, you could continue to foster him and keep him with you but they have many more contacts and resources to find hounds good homes Most of them have websites and are contacted by potential adopters. They do their best to screen all applicants up to and including a check of the home. Even if he stays in your home, it will be just another way to get him out there and seen by families looking to adopt a basset! Good luck and keep us posted!
