Hi everyone, its been a while since I've updated you all on Mary, so here we go.
Well, last Monday was Mary's last treatment, for now anyway. She will have an mri on the 15th of June and an apt. with her oncologist to go over the results, until then we really don't know how successful the radiation was in killing the tumor.
The radiation must have at the very least shrunk the tumor because Mary is in a lot less pain now and the seizures are gone. Since her last treatment Mary got a severe rash all over her body and she started sleeping about 20hrs a day, so off to the Dr. we went. When the Dr. examined Mary, they decided to hospitalize her, she spent 4 days in the hospital and what they found was that her potassium level was dangerously low, but they never did discover what the rash was about. They put her on a potassium drip and a potassium drink for the 4 days, also they changed most all of her medication to see if she was allergic to any of the drugs and the rash did start to lighten up a bit.
Since Mary has been home the rash is just about completely gone, but her skin is peeling all over her body and she fell back into the sleeping 20hrs a day again, so back to the Dr. we went. This time they found that the enzymes in her liver was very high, so we have been doing lots of blood work and we have been discontinuing all meds that are not absolutely necessary and reducing all other drugs, at this time we are still waiting on test results to see if it's getting better. Some days Mary is only awake to take her meds and sleeps the rest of the time, other days she is awake for about 4hrs throughout the day.
Keep up the prayers everyone we are still a long way from being done with this, thank you everyone for your support and prayers and may God bless all of you. A special thanks to our church for all they are doing for us, we are truly blessed, I see God working in our lives and in the lives of others around us every day. Thank you Jesus!
Sincerely, Erich and Mary
