Well, I am pround to announce that Hope did an awsome job and God blessed us with 8 wonderful healthy bouncing baby bassets! 
We have 4 males and 4 females, which consist of 3 tri females, 1 lemon female, 3 tri males and 1 red and white male. All entered this world on 2/17/04 at a whopping 1 lb 2 oz with 2 of them at 1lb 4oz. 
Hope started labor at 5:00 am Monday morning, she was vomiting alot and very restles, insisting that she was going to have those babies outside in the dog house or in a small hole she found by the deck. ::)A leash and much pulling brought her back inside everytime she insisted she was not coming in! Many check in's with the vets resulted in us communicating that her tempature was right on, the vomiting was normal, she was alert and doing well !!! Hang in there per the vet!! Well at midnight the 1st bouncing baby boy arrived. The next six arrived within the next four hours. 
;)Exhasted and wanting to rest and nurse, babies and momma settled down. I was sure there was another puppy and at 9:00 am Tuesday Morning the last baby made her arrival . A bit blue and gasping for awhile, I worked her and suctioned her and she is now settled in and nursing very well.
Between the puppy weight and her milk weight Hope gained 18 lbs!
She is doing wonderful, and Awsome momma attending to all of them, she is not a bit cross and very wonderful about everything even letting Hannah, Quincy and Gabby poke their noses in and kiss the puppies!!!
Okey, being up with Hope 2 days straight I was exhausted, my back is behyond exhausted . Puppies and momma all had a good check up at the vets. The vet said that the puppies were some of the biggest and very active pups! They are all growing fast and so very cute, Hope appears to have her days and nights mixed up , sleeps and nurses the babies during the day and then wants to be up all night! Last night(2-22-02) I was up all night with her!
