A Dog who hates Bassets??

There is the Lab mix that has always hated Ellie May, Her owner says that she never growls or goes after any other dog besides Ellie May. Well today at the dog park Ellie's little half brother was there and that same dog came in and tried to attach him!!! She immediately asked his owner if he was Ellie and sahe told her no but they were related. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this - a dog disliking particular breeds?

I just thought it was very strange.

Yup! George is generally wary of black dogs and goes up slowly to meet them. But the only dog he really, really hates is a big sheep dog in our neighborhood. The dog will be way across the other side of the park and I guess George can smell him even before he sees him and he starts growling.
It's weird because George gets along with everyone - Even dogs who don't like other dogs. It's pretty funny to see the shortest dog in the neighborhood going after the biggest guy on the block!!
I actually have to put him on his leash and hold him from going after him!

If you're like me BassetMommy I'm sure it broke your heart that somebody doesn't love Ellie May as much as you?
I take mine downtown to festivals and never had that problem? Strange indead.

I just figure it's that dogs problem because everyone else love to play with Ellie May and she's just jealous But I thought it was really strange that she did it to her brother too.
