I was wondering what kind of qualities you think a person has to have in order to be owned by a Basset? I have realized that Basset people are a "breed" apart and are very special. We seem to share things like a sense of humor, patience, etc. What do you all think?

Hey Betty, Great question! I won't try to figure out all of us "Bassetiers", instead I'll just speak for myself. I guess now that I'm older and a thousand times more relaxed then I ever was growing up! The Basset just seems to fit my laid-back personality more then any other breed? And, I've always been a bit of a goof (in school I was always the class clown) so their Duffus Personality seems to work well for me. But what attracted me the most was their beauty. They say owners look like their dogs? Well I don't think I look anything like a Basset Hound and my ears are not even close to dragging the ground when I'm on all fours! So I'm not sure about that little rule of thumb? You guys tell me, Do I LOOK like a Basset Hound?  Ok maybe my ears are a little big? ? ? |
