Oh no, I failed to mention the carpet but our problem has been the pee, not the digging. She does however have this fetish with one spot in the kitchen. The floor is hardwood that has pine knots in it. For some reason, one of the holes really has her attention. She would dig all the way to the basement if I hadn't used bitter apple.

Hi all, how has the day gone with all these adorable Basset's? ;D I foster Basset's and have a beautiful 5 year old tri color, Dora, that is going to be adopted on Saturday. I'm sitting here watching them and the two of them, mine is Mollie, are ripping apart Mollie's bed. I mean they are ripping the entire foam piece from one end to another. I've never seen either of them do this, this is just too funny. Oh well, the bed is old, I can always get another one. Ok, so enough of ripping the bed apart now they just want to hump each other. Oh this is going to be a long night. Happy weekend all.

Well, I say let them have their fun while they still have each other to play with. You must be sad to see her go. I can't wait to get our first foster. I am really looking forward to it. I am sure I will have tons of questions as I go along though so I am glad to see some of you with experience.

I have had several foster Basset's from well to do families to starving, mangy, flea infested, heartworm positive dogs. Some of them come to me in a state that you couldn't even believe. I almost lost one to bloat and I had to put one down due to spinal degeneration. The one with bloat devastated me, He was such a love and I thought that he wasn't going to make it. I was out of work for 2 days I was so shaken up by this. I learned after him. When the decision was made to put down Alice I told the rescue league that they had to take her to the vet that I couldn't do it. You learn as you go on. Dora who I have now I was going to keep. It took me 5 tries to get her description written for the website. She is such a beautiful dog that words can't even describe her. I decided that it would be best to let her be adopted. I can't do 2 dogs plus a foster plus kids plus cat etc...yikes, I'd be jumping out the window. Let me know when you start foster and I'll tell you more. These are all the faces that I make when I foster. ;D
