Our city has it's annual Renaissance Faire coming up next month and I'm bringing Hanna & Harley (of course) I found this person who does Basset Outfits and cheep! www.heavenly-hounds.com/This one works great for Hanna!  But I need someone who could make a "Merlin" outfit for Harley? He has to be a wizard! ! ! Any ideas where to get one people? If I have to make it then that's ok. As long as I can find a pattern for the cape? After all I do have opposable thumbs vice dew claws. How hard can it be even for a guy! |

When do you need it by? I might be able to make an outfit for Harley. I have made TWO merlin outfits in the past for my son's and it has to be easier to make one for a Basset. The hat is so simple and the cape would be easy. Why don't you shoot me an email so we can discuss it and if there is time, I will get one together for you.

Well, guess what! They do make patterns for doggie wear! They are made by simplicity and are usually in the costume section. They might have to be modified for a Basset but they have some really cute ones.

WHOO HOO!! I can't wait to get it!! Yeah, i have everything. I was a little disappointed cuz they didn't have the silky material that I wanted in the right colors but I still was able to get something that will look good. I just sent you an email to get the measurements and added one more. I didn't get the patterns though. I think that for hounds it will have to be an original design  . |

Could you please measure them each ear to ear too? Basicall of the top of their head from ear to ear. Thank you!

Got the measurements! Had to chase the hounds around the kitchen but got them! Both Hanna and Harley are the same size. Here's the sizes you asked for. Tell me if there is any more. Thanks!  |

Betty is designing and making Harley into a Wizard complete with a small charm and potion sack for around his neck!
And Hanna is going to be the princess in the picture above!
Betty is amazing! I can't wait to see her creation!
Reniassance Faire is my favorite Ocean Springs event! I wait each year for it and then go into depression when the weekend is over!
This will be the first year the hounds are dressing up in style for it!

Well, Harley's hat is done . I ended up having to make two..lol. I will just hold on to that one just in case. Sure hope it fits. I have also started Hanna's hat as well. I should get her hat and kerchief done tomorrow while Ally is down for nap and can start on Harley's cape/robe. That is going to be the hard part so I thought I would get the easy stuff out of the way first to minimize frustration! LOL. I don't know about skilled and creative heehee...more like silly and hard headed. If I want it to work, by golly it's gonna! Yet another trait shared by a basset and her food slave. ;D |

9 whole inches "TOP" of ear to top of ear Betty.
Is that how you needed it measured?
They did really good too. Course both of them think I'm a idiot now for measuring their heads? But hey what's new!
