Bassets are great for people like me!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Misifu and I am new to this site. I am a proud owner of a Basset; she is a lemon & white and her name is Freckles. I'm posting this because I have a thyroid condition ( hypothyroidism - low-functioning thyroid ) and Freckles has been the greatest therapy for me! I was lucky. About 6 months ago, I found her abandoned and hungry, so I took her in. I have always been a feline person, but since I've had Freckles, my life has changed for the better. I take her for walks, she's helped me move around more, and well, there's so many other wonderful stories to tell about her, but needless to say, she's the best pet I've ever had, plus the cats love her & she loves them! I recommend a Basset for people like me, and frankly, for everyone else!

I agree, bassets are great therapy dogs. They make sure we get our exercise as well.

Thank you for sharing that story. I'm sorry about your condition but you seem to have found a pretty wonderful friend from it all

Welcome Misifu! We are happy to have you and Freckles join us. I know what you mean about therapy, Lillian has helped me to find things to do with her in order to actually leave the house every now and then. Since we haven't lived here that long, I haven't had the chance to meet many people but Lillian has helped to change that.
