I know this is not the post to beat all post but the question is.. Does your Hound wear Nylon or Leather Collars? Buckle or Snap? I found these for Haley and Hanna and fell in love with them! I really like that! I use the nylon with the plastic snap for Lillian. I would love to have the metal snap. It would look so nice!

We have nylon with quick clip, but we would much rather have them with the metal clip! We thinks this would make the mom very happy, just in case we chew or something.....Time for new ones - One Red and One Black - through Dr. Fosters? We're due anyway......yippeee ;D L and E

They're really very nice Collars. I got mine through Omaha Vaccine but can't get their website to pull up at work to show you guys. Well, to be honest about it, Lexie wears a leather Coach collar. Don't ask me, I just had to have it because it was hot pink, orange and Red. I don't know what I was thinking, but it is a conversation piece. ;D I've tried to save it for special occasions but what the heck, she is my only hound and she deserves the best, as long as it doesn't include laying on the couch.  |

We use they nylon with metal clasp too. What a screechin' deal these are- my newbie self bought one at petsmart for what seemed like a lotta money. Turns out, it was! The funniest thing about collars is trying to figure out how to put them on a bassett when his neck is twice the size of his head!;D

You're right about it being hard to put on  I always have to try to pull it over her head to make sure it won't slip off. I have actually been thinking about a harness instead. Any thoughts? |

Arn't they great! I just love them. Much more secure then the plastic snaps. Plus they just look much better. I agree Lexie Lady.. Nothing too good for my Bassets except the couch. haha.. Have you looked at the two websites bassackwards? I will NEVER buy from even Wal-Mart again when it comes to the Hounds. I havent looked yet at the sites, but I did bookmark them both. I am afraid to look right now- with the big N and all that, the hound budget isn't in a buying position, and my name (lori by the way) and self-control with spending do not EVER belong in the same sentence. Doh, I just broke my own rule! I sort of have to go with the 'ole "if I don't know about it I won't miss it! " feeling there. |

Betty I love the harness. I feel like I have much more control over Lexie with it. With the collar, I feel like I choke her when we are walking. Of course that doens't have a dang thang to do with her pulling me. ;D
