Lonnie,
Harry will really be missed in this world. He was a great man, it seems, and a strong advocate for bassets. We will all miss him.
His family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

oh, what terribly sad news...I am at work and this is just heart breaking. Harry was a wonderful human being with so much talent, wealth of knowledge and love in his heart for his entire family--2 leggers & 4 leggers all. I know that he is running and playing with all the hounds at the Bridge, including my dear Bubba. I will definitely send his wife, Wendy and family my condolences.

Oh my gosh, I don't even know what to say, I'm in total shock! My sincere sympathies go out to Harry's family. It must be especially hard for them knowing that it happened so very suddenly. What a truly wonderful man Harry was; he will be greatly missed by so many people. I'm sure he's up in heaven with all his beautiful houndies that made their journey there before him.

Thank you all so much for your lovely tributes about my dear Harry, you have no idea how much they mean to me right now...it certainly does help me a lot.
The funeral was absolutely huge with around 300 people attending, many tributes/eulogies so he had a great sendoff.
The shock and sadness is pretty intense round here right now and the hounds seem to know something has happened as they howl a lot and look for him...but we will get there...our kids are all here and we are looking after each other. Thank you all again for the tributes. Wendy

Thank you so much Wendy for thinking of us enough to take the time to write with everything going on.
I know that we may seem like strangers in a way but Harry touched so many peoples hearts all around the world. You must be very proud of him.
And I know it may seem silly but with all the confusion going on, and you've probably already thought this yourself, but maybe you can take an unwashed shirt of Harry's for his babies to lay on? That may help calm them.
Please let us know what we can do for you and your family?
You and your family is in our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers.

As I wipe the tears from my eyes, I think of all the people that Harry helped. His kind genlteman like way, his answers to my many stupid questionS Being a first time basset owner, his great sense of humor, His jokes of Lonnie and Him being the only men around when the board was just begininng to grow, his photos of his four legged children, his talks of his grandchildren. WHY?......I just don't understand. I AM SO STRUGGLING WITH SO MANY QUESTIONS THESE DAYS
Lonnie what a wonderful gift he has given Donovan and what a great gift you have given us. ...THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW HARRY!"

Just wanted everyone to know that I’ve dedicated and renamed our Rainbow Bridge section to “The Harry Sanders Memorial Rainbow Bridge”
I know in my heart that Harry is now the St. Peter at the gates of the Rainbow Bridge so it’s only fitting.

Hi, I've been a member here for a short while but haven't gotten around to posting. I read Mary's post on another board.
I "met" Harry online years ago, and he always was a pleasure to post with. I remember a few years back he was working to help a hound whose name was, I believe, Robbie? I made a donation to a rescue in Australia who was working with Harry.
The Basset Hound world lost a great man. My heart goes out across the miles to Harry's family who I'm sure must be missing him.
Rest in peace, Harry.
